PSJC affirms its solidarity with Medinat Israel and its people. We pray for the well-being of those defending it and those who have been taken hostage. We are committed to helping ensure a secure and peaceful future for Israel and its neighbors.

High Holy Days 2022 - 5783
The High Holy Days are not as far away as you might think. Rosh Hashanah begins Sunday evening, September 25th, and Yom Kippur starts with Kol Nidre, on the evening of Tuesday, October 4th. We begin our formal introduction to the Yamim Noraim (Days of Awe) with the Brownstone Brooklyn-wide Selichot service on the evening of Saturday, September 17th, a beautiful service that features Rabbis and Cantors from our many congregations coming together to provide a moving, meaningful and musical experience.
This year, we look forward to starting the New Year together IN PERSON in our beautiful sanctuary on 14th Street and 8th Ave. The service will be streamed via Zoom, and much of it will also be available (via Zoom) in the tent in our yard. That said, we are excited to feel the energy of our community, singing and praying together as we start this new year.
To prepare for the Yamim Noraim, please join us for various learning opportunities during the month of Elul, and please enjoy this collection of the music of the High Holy Days at PSJC. Below are videos with music to get us in the mood.
You may also like to participate in our Honey from the Heart fundraiser and send a sweet greeting to family and friends.
As part of Yom Kippur, we remember those who have died with Yizkor. If you would like to include names of departed loved ones in PSJC's Yom Kippur Yizkor Book, please contact Yizkor@PSJC.org with the names (English, and Hebrew if known) that you would like included, their relationship to you (father, mother, etc.), Hebrew and/or Gregorian date of death, and any photos. It is traditional to make an $18 donation to PSJC in honor of each of the names listed; the PSJC office will bill your account for each name that you select. The deadline for inclusion in the Yizkor Book is Friday, September 16. If you listed in the Yizkor book last year, you will receive a personalized email. If you did not list in the previous year, please contact: Yizkor@PSJC.org.
In addition to our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services, we are thrilled to offer free, open-to-the-community Youth & Family services and programming, our annual free, community Kol Nidrei service, Shofar on the Stoop, and more opportunities to connect.
We are excited to celebrate with you!
Shanah Tovah!
