PSJC Family Programming

Park Slope Jewish Center (PSJC) offers an array of Family Programs for children of all ages. Our three main youth services, Tot Shabbat, Mini-Minyan, and Junior Congregation, meet September through June, except during school vacations, holidays. When Shabbat Kulanu meets once a month, we all come together for a combined, all-ages service, in place of the three separate youth services.  For descriptions and details for each of our children's and youth services, please scroll below. For updated information on our service schedule, please visit the PSJC Calendar.  If you have any questions about the accessibility of our building or services for your family, please email

Tot Shabbat

11:15AM - 12:15PM

This service is geared towards ages 1-5 and a caregiver. Celebrate Shabbat with guitar-led prayers and songs, dancing and stories with Abe! Tot Shabbat allows parents and children to have create a lively family Shabbat experience. Each service ends with a family kiddush.


11:15AM - 12:15PM

Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are welcomed to their own musical service. Learn the prayers, join together in song, stories and other fun Shabbat activities.  Parents are welcome, but not required to attend. Each service ends with a short kiddush with Tot Shabbat.

Junior Congregation

11:00AM - 12:15PM

Give your kids a chance to create their own community! Join us for bagels and cream cheese at 11:00 am, followed by services. Children in grades 3 through 6 join together to learn, lead services, and spend time with their friends.

Shabbat Kulanu

Kulanu means "all together," so join us for our brand new, all-ages, musical service will meet once a month on Shabbat mornings during the school year and approximately eight times a year on Friday evenings. Abe and Aileen will lead an inclusive Shabbat service that will get you on your feet and in the Shabbat spirit. Friday night services will be followed by a dinner (check website for updated information each month on whether this is a potluck or catered meal). Shabbat morning services will include a short Torah service and as a community we will join with the main service for concluding prayers and kiddush.  

Note, a short sing-a-long for Tots will occur during the Torah service and small nosh will be available for the youngest participants in the Tot Shabbat classroom following the service on Shabbat mornings.

Family Torah

Designed for 3rd-6th graders and their families, Family Torah is a unique opportunity for interactive parsha study. We combine movement, bibliodrama, games, and discussion for an educational and engaging time.

It's Friday!

Come sing and play with Abe every week for a fun-filled music class that combines your favorite Tot Shabbat songs, with a story and dancing. Our open-space, informal class allows children ages 0 - 3 and their grownups to explore the Hebrew letters and Shabbat bag at their own pace. We look forward to having you join us!

Passover at PSJC

Join PSJC and PJ Library for a special Passover program just for YOU!

Charoset And More! Come join us for a hands-on Passover experience! We'll hear a story, sing some songs, and make yummy charoset! While our PJ Library program is happening, parents are invited to join a Seder workshop to learn about ways to liven up your Seder, explore different Haggadot, and see the latest Seder supplements to enrich your conversations!



Park Slope Jewish Center  is thrilled to be in partnership with PJ Library (PJ ~ as in pajamas), a program that provides families raising Jewish children with a FREE treasury of Jewish books and music! Every month, families enrolled in PJ LIBRARY receive a high-quality, expert-selected and kid-tested (!) Jewish book or CD as a gift from the community.  PJ Library in the NY Metro area is transitioning to one central database. To sign up for books for your child ages 6 months - 8 years, click here.
