Potluck Dinner and Speaker Gadi Ezra

Friday, March 24, 2017 • 26 Adar 5777

6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Gadi Ezra holds a unique perspective on war--as both a human rights attorney on the one hand, and a soldier in the Israeli Special Forces on the other. Gadi is a civic-strategic adviser to the Israeli Joint Chiefs of Staff, consulting on the legitimacy of the IDF in legal and diplomatic arenas. Selected by Forbes Magazine as one of the most influential leaders in Israel under the age of 30, he was recently chosen to lead the Human Rights Initiative within the Flagship Program of the World Jewish Congress--"The Jewish Diplomatic Corps".

Gadi earned law degrees from Tel Aviv University and NYU School of Law, specializing in the laws of war, public law and human rights. During his studies in Tel Aviv, Gadi was recruited to fight in Operation Cast Lead, and was among the first infantry units to enter the Gaza Strip. Drawing from his personal experience as well as his background as a human rights lawyer, Gadi examines the complexities of applying the laws of warfare in actual combat, illustrating modern challenges using first-hand experiences.

Please join us to engage with Gadi Ezra on Friday, March 24. Services begin at 6:30PM, followed by a vegetarian/dairy potluck dinner, and his talk (beginning approximately 8:00PM).  RSVP below.
