Conversation with Joseph Braude

This January, the Center for Peace Communications released 25 videos in which Palestinians of the Gaza Strip described their suffering at the hands of Hamas and called for a different future. The videos, employing video animation to protect the identity of the speakers, reached millions of Arabs, spawning a public outcry and the first-ever fatwa — by senior clerics in Iraq and Pakistan — deeming it un-Islamic to “join, pray for, fight for, or fund Hamas.” Joseph Braude, President of the Center for Peace Communications, will tell the story of this remarkable endeavor and the new openings it has highlighted for those seeking a more peaceful region.
