Celestial Shabbat Celebration

February 7-8, 2020

Please join us for a community-wide Shabbat celebration, part of our year-long celebration of Rabbi Carter’s 20th Anniversary at PSJC!

Judy Ribnick will bring her unique musical sparkle to our Friday evening and Shabbat Shirah morning services. Friday evening Kabbalat service will be followed by a delicious enhanced potluck dinner, more singing, and some delightful surprises, including our personal stories about Rabbi Carter (so jot down your best anecdote and come prepared to share). Shabbat morning service will feature Judy’s musical D’var Torah, special community group aliyot and more, followed by a lovely kiddush lunch.

If you have studied or worked with Rabbi Carter over the years, we invite you to join one of the group aliyot in her honor:
Colleagues - Aliyah #3,
Bnai Mitzvah - Aliyah #4,
Life Cycle Events (e.g., wedding, baby naming, brit milah, & conversion) - Aliyah #5
Board Members -- past and present - Aliyah #6, and
Her Beloved Family - Aliyah #7!
If YOU or your children went through the Bat/r Mitzvah process or a lifecycle event with Rabbi Carie, please join us- your youngins too – on this musical and meaningful Shabbat.

Please join us when celebrated Jewish educator/Israel educator,

Robbie Gringras spends an inspiring weekend with us November 8-10.

Friday, Nov. 8: Festivities begin with a rousing Friday evening service at 6:30pm led by Judy Ribnick followed by a delicious catered dinner at 7:30pm.  At 8:30pm, Robbie will address where we are 24 years after Yitzhak Rabin’s death: How can we talk freely about Israel? How do we navigate and honor “unity in disagreement?”

Saturday, Nov. 9: Robbie will share a Dvar Torah during services and teach following kiddush at 1:15pm on the “O” Word (Occupation): how to talk about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict without alienating others and yourself?

Saturday evening, Nov. 9: Robbie will perform his charming new solo show The Gateat 7:00pm, preceded by community havdallah at 6:30pm. Reception and Q&A to follow performance.
